Keith Brockett is a director and theatre-maker with a career spanning more than two decades across both stage and screen. Having established himself as an award-winning performer, Keith’s direction combines an actor-centred approach with strong visual imagination and a commitment to stories that explore identity, power, and belonging. His work is shaped by a belief in theatre as a space for discovery – where established texts can be re-examined, new voices can emerge, and audiences can encounter familiar stories in unexpected ways.

Keith is a recipient of the 2026 Malthouse Theatre Artist Development Program, serving as Assistant Director to Sarah Goodes on Break of Day by Steve Rodgers. He also assistant directed on Lucia di Lammermoor for Melbourne Opera, and will assist Roger Hodgman AM in the upcoming production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at the Atheneaum Theatre in November. Keith was awarded a Master of Theatre (Directing) from the Victorian College of the Arts, is a co-founder of Green Room-nominated theatre company The KIN Collective.

Other directing credits include Shane Woon’s Rabbit & Watson  (presented as part of the 2026 Darebin Speakeasy program), Tales From the Arabian Nights  (Donna Abela), Footfalls  (Samuel Beckett), TruScum  (Oscar Bray), The Lamentable Tragedy of Titus Andronicus  (William Shakespeare), and La Dispute  (Pierre de Marivaux).

Keith’s performing highlights include Oliver Rivers in the Australian premiere of Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, Will Eno’s one-person show Title and Deed, Happy Ending  (Melbourne Theatre Company), and national tours of The Yellow Wave and Porcelain  (15 Minutes from Anywhere).

His screen highlights include cult hits The Librarians  (Equity Award for Outstanding Ensemble – Comedy) and Ronny Chieng: International Student, the award-winning New Gold Mountain, The Newsreader, Bloom, and Seven Types of Ambiguity.
